Lima day 2
After breakfast and a little work on my part, we head over to the Inca Market, about 1km from our hotel. This morning we weren't buying, just looking and getting an idea of prices. Lots of bright colors and interesting patterns on the knitwear. The market was just opening up, and not very busy.
Afterwards we walked through Park Kennedy (quite a few cats) and down to a ceviche restaurant for lunch. We aren't too hungry so share Ceviche Classico.
Back to the hotel to get changed before heading out to the Larco Museum. A beautiful private museum about 1/2 hour drive north. We had a cappuccino overlooking the lovely gardens before having our tour of the museum. 4 of us with a great guide. Gave us a great over-view of Peru's 5000 year history. The museum isn't too big, so doesn't over-whelm, and has beautiful pieces. The sun even came out for a bit while we were in the gardens!
Back to the hotel for a Pisco Sour at our hotel bar. I can highly recommend them! Very nice bartender who gave us the lowdown on Pisco. We then went for an early dinner at a nearby fish restaurant, Delfino Mar. I had small fried fish with fried yucca, Karen had a fish fillet with a garlic sauce. Both very good, and service was friendly. 100 sol for dinner with 2 beer, about $40.00 CAD
A bit windy and cool on the short walk back to our hotel for an early night.
