Lima Day 3
We woke a little earlier this morning, after a good sleep. The breakfast room was a little busier today.
It actually "misted" overnight (it never really rains in Lima) so the sidewalks are wet and a little slippery.
This morning we decide to go to Huaca Pucllana, an adobe and clay archaeological site from 500 AD, which is about a 20 min walk from our hotel. Admission includes a mandatory tour which was very interesting. (we got in 1/2 price for over 60). The pyramid like structures were built to worship the sea gods, and people lived in the surrounding areas. The site was forgotten for many years, excavations started in the 80s and continue today.
Afterwards we walked through another market, then had lunch at the same cevicheria as yesterday, Cevicheria Miramar. Today we shared a mixed seafood ceviche, even better than the day before.
Afterwards we stopped at the Chocolate Museum for hot chocolate with cinnamon and cloves- delicious! It definitely feels cooler than the stated temperature of 17C so a hot drink is appealing. The high humidity makes it feel about 5 degrees cooler.
Time for a little rest before an afternoon walk along the Malecon.
